First Volume of the “Armenians of the Black Sea Region” Encyclopedia Published

For centuries, Armenians have also resettled in the Black Sea regions. During this period, our compatriots have made significant contributions to the development of the region. At the same time, they have strived to preserve their identity by forming community hubs and establishing national structures and organizations within them. Recently, in the study of the history of the Armenian community in the Russian Federation, our local compatriots have been presenting historical and ethnographic studies, as well as online educational projects. In this context, our compatriot Khristofor Mkhitaryan has submitted the “Armenians of the Black Sea Region” encyclopedia for publication. He announced this on his Facebook page. Mkhitaryan is the project leader and editor. According to him, the study was compiled based on the principle of an encyclopedic dictionary, with an authorial group consisting of representatives of various nationalities. The first volume consists of five hundred pages and includes about one thousand articles and more than three thousand illustrations. The compiler of the encyclopedia is Igor Kuznetsov. The encyclopedia was published under the auspices of the Armenian Charitable Association of Krasnodar. Preparatory work for the presentation is currently underway.
