Glendale’s Forest Lawn Museum hosts an exclusive exhibition of contemporary Armenian art

GLENDALE, Calif. – On March 21, 2026, the Forest Lawn Museum will debut “Convergence: Contemporary Artists of Armenian Descent,” a major exhibition featuring over twenty artists who challenge traditional artistic conventions. The showcase is part of the “2026 Hyper SoCal” initiative, highlighting the vital role of nonprofit venues in supporting Southern California’s working artists.

Exploring Identity and Mediums Curated by Alina Mnatsakanian and Kaloust Guedel in collaboration with Museum Director Dr. James Fishburne, the exhibition spans diverse genres, from bold abstraction to conceptual installations. The participating artists—ranging from first-generation immigrants to U.S.-born creators—bring individual perspectives to a collective exploration of Armenian identity, which remains a complex sentiment rooted in deep historical and emotional connections.

Public Engagement The opening reception will feature a performance by LA-based producer Bei Ru. Running through August 9, 2026, the exhibition includes a series of moderated “Artist Talks” starting in April. These sessions will cover themes such as “Art, Politics, and Identity” and “Painterly Expressions,” providing the public with direct access to the creative minds shaping the contemporary Armenian-American art scene.
